In stores here i saw three different series of byg reissues. In the last days i discovered on discogs that these byg actuel records are reissued in a mysterious reissue by the original byg with unknown release year. The now legendary status of byg is mainly based on some fifty excellent free jazz and experimental records by mostly american artists released under the actuel series. Well first of all byg records weren t particularly well pressed in the first place. Byg records 529 337 series. Sonny sharrock monkey pockie boo. There are a couple of titles i have on reissue jacques coursil way ahread being one og them simply because it sounds better.

I have owned and mostly sold off quite a few actuel titles. I m not a big free jazz listener and many of the titles were in that vein. For example this one. But the original records were generally pretty poorly pressed and if any care went into the reissues i m sure they d be fine.
